Job Description1 | EduAction Project is one of the biggest and most professional social projects in the history of AIESEC that takes place every semester, currently in 5 countries: Brazil (6 different cities), Uruguay (Montevideo), Peru (Chimbote), Colombia (Bogota area) and Mexico (Mexico City). The aim of EduAction Project is to help middle school kids develop into responsible, tolerant and confident citizens with leadership skills and a wider world view. Supporting language classes will be provided by your receiving LC. In addition, you will be participating EduAction training and promotional events that may include several Global Villages or other events during the project. Your responsibilities also include online communication, such as blogging, to raise awareness about the project. Be prepared to be responsible for your own food, entertainment and travel costs. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
Job Description2 | You will facilitate work-shops for teenagers between 12 and 15 years old in underprivileged public schools using Portuguese as main language. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
Job Description3 | The themes of the work-shops are Cultural Diversity, Social Responsibility, Sustainability, Leadership, Innovation, and Personal Motivation. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
Job Description4 | You will be working in a pair, delivering 16-20 work-shops per week (1 hour each) during a period of 8 -10 weeks. You will work in more than one school. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
Job Description5 | The project will cover your housing and local transportation costs. Depending of the city, it is possible that you will have free lunches or extra money for food. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
Job Description6 | EduAction Project has a Summit that takes place in the first weekend of March in São Paulo, Brazil. Your presence at the Summit is free of charge and mandatory! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
Measurable results expected from the intern | Class Plans are delivered on time (prepared together with other interns and with the local project team) • Work-shops with the proposed activities are delivered in high-quality, engaging ways • The themes of the project are understandable for the pupils • Your professional relationships with the schools are trusting and cooperative • All required reports and evaluations are delivered on time • You are motivated and putting daily effort in you language skills • You participate in all the learning and networking events required by AIESEC or Gerdau • You contribute to the growth and quality of the project as a member of the EduAction Team • You help to communicate the project with pictures, testimonials, videos, blog posts, also using social media. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
Preparation required from the intern before arrival | You need to know the culture and social reality of your country. You must want and have the confidence to work with children. You must be motivated to improve your language skills. You must know where to find information on the project themes and like to work in a team. It is preferred that you have previously worked in AIESEC and have taken a leadership role. If you do not have these specifications, please do not apply for this TN. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

Other Details of the Working Conditions | In the first month, you will be prepared to work in the tasks and will learn more about the EduAction Project and its expectations, starting in the event “EduAction Project Summit”. Your presence at the Summit is mandtory. You will organize Global Villages at schools and one in your local Gerdau office. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
