|
Nowadays while high technology flourishes and a smaller world with bigger surprise is unfolded to youths, there are still a special group of youths in China, who have little access to innovations and are almost cut off from the outside world. The so-called left-behind youths, labeled by their working parents far away from home and tunnel-visioned living circumstances, share common problems of poor confidence, vulnerable esteems, limited imagination, low level of socialization and communication. That's what Dare to Dream project is here for: to bring the marvellous outside world to them , to help open up the youths' hearts and express themselves fearlessly, to induct them to knowledge and innovation, to bring the change to them and to yourselves.

Week 1:a) arrive in Beijing to attend a three-day training, including basic psychological and social knowledge, presentation skills, theme activities designing and so on; b)specify your plan in teams.

|
Week 2 to week6:1)deliver courses and theme activities to over 400 youths aging from 12-17. Courses will focus on English teaching and diverse culture. Activities will be theme-oriented.

2)talk with local community to deeper understand local culture and their actual needs, which helps alter later courses and activities.3)help students set their life goals and dreams.

Requirements:1)write working journals every day and regular reflection or feedback diaries to record your feelings about life, project management, innovative ideas or suggestions.

2)attend on-line meetings daily with project managers to update and the final reflection meeting.3)help collect feedbacks from school or students for further social research.
|
Measurable results expected from the intern
|
a) high-quality course delivery according to the plan ; b) good feedback from school and students c) creative works(paintings, writings ,etc) made by students and at least one talent show presented; d) 80% attendance rate of all the meetings; e) 80% accomplishment rate of file paper required; f) final reflection and feedback about their exchange experience in China
|
Preparation required from the intern before arrival
|
a) get proper visa; b) have raw thoughts about cultural courses and collect relevant information about your country and culture; c)prepare material that can represent your culture (traditional costumes, instruments, videos etc); d) brief study into basic background of Sichuan province and left-behind youths.

Learning points that the intern might obtain during the internship
|
a) receive professional training from NGO partners about psychological knowledge, presentation skills and so on; b)gain practical knowledge about inductive teaching and youth care; c) learn and feel about real China(culture, language, etc); d) work with international volunteers and enjoy cross-culture friendship with Chinese youths; e) identify your own dreams and life goals through dealing with left-behind youths here, so that you can chase your dreams and head for your future.

Additional information a potential candidate may require for the Internship
|
1) the training will be held from July 4th - 6th; b) Volunteers will head for school after training and spend four-five weeks there; c) For EPs from exchange partner countries, please hand in your application on time and we will arrange the interview soon according to schedule. Check the partner countries with the TN manager
