Job Description1
Nowadays while high technology flourishes and a smaller world with bigger surprise is unfolded to youths, there are still a special group of youths in China, who have little access to innovations and are almost cut off from the outside world. The so-called left-behind youths, who are labeled by their working parents far away from home and tunnel-visioned living circumstances, share common problems like poor confidence, vulnerable esteems, limited imagination, low level of socialization and communication. That's what Dare to Dream project is here for:no boundary,let every child receive qualified education. Week 1:a) arrive in Changsha to attend a four-day training of basic psychological and social knowledge, presentation skills, theme activities designing, ,course design theory and Chinese culture preparation . b)specify your plan in teams. 2 weeks: 1)Deliver courses and theme activities to over 100 youths aging from 12-17. Courses will focus on English teaching and diverse culture. Activities will be themeoriented. 2) talk with local community to deeper understanding of local culture and their real needs, which help alter later courses and activities. 3) help students set their life goals and dreams. 1)write working journals every day and regular reflection or feedback diaries to record your feelings about life, project management, innovative ideas or suggestions. 2)attend on-line meetings daily with project managers to update and the final reflection meeting.3)help collect feedbacks from school or students for further social research. 2 weeks: join the dream promotion with us! 1) design activities like Road show with photo exhibition to arise people’s attention on this topic.2)we will invite many NGOs,communities, and companies even the governments to join us.

Attend the Project Sharing Meeting every week, and exchange ideas on teaching, project, issues, learning, plans, and personal life with other volunteers and local members.
Measurable results expected from the intern
1) Good feedback from Learning Partners and project schools; 2) 85% attendance rate of all the meetings; 3)80% accomplishment rate of dairies required; 4) reports about their work & life experience in China;
Preparation required from the intern before arrival
1)Visa and Tickets; 2)Interesting material to help you represent your culture (traditional costumes, instruments, videos etc) 3) Get to know more about China and Changsha. 4)Collect information about children education by the Internet or some reference books 5)Learn the current situation of rural area education in China. 6)Personal laptop is required. 7)Communicate with us as much as possible! 8)If you have any notes or books, remember to bring them

We will hold a welcome party for all the trainees and local volunteers on 2/7/2012.For EPs from exchange partner countries, please hand in your application on time and we will arrange the interview soon according to schedule. Check the partner countries with the TN manager.
