Job Description1
Target school of this project is a primary school and kindergarten in the Beijing suburbs. Students attending the schools are a unique group. They are not native Beijingers – they are children of migrant workers from all over China who moved to Beijing.
Job Description2
The teachers at the school wish to provide their students with an English environment to learn the language but are restrained by limited resources and funds.

We hope that with this project, the children can widen their world view and improve their English abilities via their interactions with the interns.

Interns should: Like interacting with children Be fluent in English (preferably a native speaker) Be optimistic, outgoing and energetic Be willing to pick up basic Chinese while on internship

Measurable results expected from the intern
Teach basic phonics, alphabet, vocabulary and grammar to the students of elementary level.

We hope that interns will develop a better understanding of a phenomenon that is becomingly increasing common as China develops – that of the migrant family. Through your interactions with the children, we hope that you will come to realize that children may not all have equal talents, but can and should have equal opportunities to develop their talents, an opportunity that YOU can provide. When one teaches, two learns. Not only do we hope that the children will pick up English, we also hope that you will pick up basic Chinese, amongst many other personal growth that you will experience in the course of this internship.
