Job Description1
AIESEC SJTU(Shanghai Jiao Tong University) is an original Local Committee in Mainland of China. And We Will Shine is our local special project. It aims at promoting communication between cultures and raising awareness of the development in southwestern China. We will invite 10 EPs from different backgrounds to join in this Summer Camps in 2012 in the one of the most charming region in China-Anhui Province.

Firstly, EPs will receive one-week training about introduction of Anhui, schools, Chinese Cultrue and other volunteer knowledge.

With our volunteers from AIESEC SJTU accompany you to Anhui, EPs are required to join in Summer Camp in two schools, which is about cultural communication.

During the summer camp, EPs should participant in every activity we arrange, including Cultural Workshop, Global Village, Amazing Race, etc.

After classes,interns will take activities to explore the charming place in China.You will leave the school and find the beauty of local city.Interns will take the photos of the cultural landscape.

Interns will share feelings of the local culture after interesting exploration of Chinese beauty .Everyone are required to write a report about what you feel and what you gain.
Measurable results expected from the intern
The project is aimed at students’ deeper understanding of different cultures. We will have some surveys and evaluation; also collect feedback at each school. The major measurements include: 1) students' understanding of the cultures displayed by EPs; 2) participation of students in group work;3)feedbacks for EPs from the school.
Preparation required from the intern before arrival
Each intern is expected to prepare a short self presentation and a presentation (usually multimedia presentation) of their culture. Furthermore abundant distinguished materials, such as your national flag, costumes, postcards,movies, books, history, music, as more as you can imagine. If you want to make the presentations more popular, we prefer you can find some more materials related to your country's reality or your own experiences by yourself. Learn more knowledge about the western of China, such as circumstance of western China ,poverty and so on.Try to know more about how to communicate with students. Master basic knowledge about China, including food, culture and so on. Notebook/laptop is highly suggested to carry.

Other Conditions:1.Free accommodation and food provided during the summer camp;2. Personal Workspace provided; 3.Internet access provided by most of the schools but not guaranteed.
Learning points that the intern might obtain during the internship
1) Chinese culture and international culture experience; 2) Crossculture communication skills, teaching and presentation skills; 3) Knowledge about Chinese culture and other interns' cultures, knowledge about topics of development and education in western China; 4)Abilities of adapting to foreign cultures, team work, planning and designing.(5)The interns themselves will have a deep understanding about the western China and Chinese Culture. (6) Chinese languages.(7)To realize the value of life, to expanding horizons.
Additional information a potential candidate may require for the Internship
The motivation of teaching Chinese youth and passion for China are preferred. We'd like the interns to be flexible and open to reasonable changes in teaching topics and activities according to school reality. Cultural sensitivity and sense of responsibility are required. And as teachers are regarded as role models by students in China, we'd like the interns to respect the local cultures and obey reasonable rules set by the schools. You will be living with trainees from other countries in the same program! Our LC has created a special interaction conference.
