Job Description11st week: At the beginning of our project, we will hold Chinese teaching courses, teaching trainees Chinese common/daily expressions; courses from university professors will also be taken. After that, you will gain a totally different 4-days city traveling, series of famous or unique cultural sites are waiting for you to explore. 2nd week: Trainees will celebrate the spring festival with Changsha locals. It is the quickest way to experience the traditional Chinese culture like making dumplings, pasting spring couplets, setting off fireworks and firecrackers with your host family.3 days later, all foreign volunteers need to organize some activities in the community. 3rd week-4th week: In this period, you will get a fantastic chance to learn Hunan cultures in museums, which includes professional trainings from the museums, the promotion of what you learned etc. For instance, you will spend 2 days in exploring Hunan Embroidery Museum, Four embroiders will tell you all the details of the process about how to make splendiferous embroidery. Then, you can make your own embroidery. 5th week-6th week: you should design courses or activities to deliver the differences and connection you’ve found between China and your own country around 3 schools. At the same time, Global villages are also required to show your own country’ cultures.
Job Description21)By accept training courses from museums’ professional trainers, get to learn how to practical use it and how to deliver the cultural knowledge. 2) Basic jobs in museums
Job Description3Based on the learning process in museums, you will lead the teaching process as well as organize activities for the primary and secondary students in Changsha.(Exhibition etc.)
Job Description4At the end of our project, you should arrange at least 2 public lectures in universities, which aims to spread Hunan cultures to university students and summarize what we have done.
Job Description5Every Saturday afternoon, volunteers need to arrange English corners in host family’s communities, which will take about 2 hours.
Job Description6Attend the Project Sharing Meeting every week, and exchange ideas on teaching, project, issues, learning, plans, and personal life with other volunteers and local members.
Measurable results expected from the intern1) Good feedback from Learning Partners and project schools; 2) 85% attendance rate of all the meetings; 3)80% accomplishment rate of dairies required; 4) reports about their work & life experience in China;
Preparation required from the intern before arrival1)Visa and Tickets 2)Interesting material to help you represent your culture (traditional costumes, instruments, videos etc.) 3) Get to know more about China and Changsha. 4)Personal laptop is required. 5)Communicate with us as much as possible!
