About Being Qatar Project | |
A social initiative based on cultural understanding and diversity issue aim to unite the Arabian culture for overcoming unfair prejudices against the Arabic countries and MENA region. Among other objectives are to bridging closer the world gap between the western region with the MENA region, cultivate the knowledge on Arabian cultural and arts perspective, to underline the differences between culture and religion, and to provide real perspective of Islam for the local youth. | |

Department the intern will be working | - |
Job Description1 | Plan, design, prepare and conduct workshops related to Arabic culture and arts targeted on the secondary school?s students. The workshop content will lead to increasing the student's awareness level about global issues in regard to the Arabic society.(Daily) |
Job Description2 | Attendance to the corporate meetings/networking events related to the project and to produce report to be used for further improve ideas/projects.(Periodically) |
Job Description3 | Participate in the city tour and to document personal experiences to be featured on the AIESEC Qatar's social platforms, i.e. writing/photography/ |
Job Description4 | To work on different job role in the organizing committee team in preparation of the main event which leading to the successful event organization.(Daily) |
Job Description5 | Conduct and compile surveys on arabic cultural awareness among students.(Periodically) |
Job Description6 | Active involvement and participation in the LC activities i.e. learning circles, LC monthly meeting, education and training sessions, country presentation and project meetings.(Daily) |
Measurable results expected from the intern | 100% successful delivery of the Arabic cultural awareness campaign among the local students and Qatar society, with fulfilment of the job descriptions and tasks being allocated. To conduct and manage energetic and exciting sessions for the local and international students of high schools in Qatar. Successfully launched external events. |
Preparation required from the intern before arrival | To conduct own research about the Qatari culture and traditions in order to adapt to the environment easier. Read about the important global issues in regard to the Middle East and North Africa region for better understanding and aid into the delivery of the job descriptions. Intern is required to bring some promotional materials and displays that represents own country such as flag, food, pictures, costume and so forth for cultural presentations and sharing. |

Other Details of the Working Conditions | The intern will not be provided with neither workplace nor personal workplace. Hence interns are highly encouraged to bring own laptop for working purposes. Apart from internship works, most likely interns maybe working from home, in the university or at the MC office. Accommodation and food will be provided however. |
Learning points that the intern might obtain during the internship | The intern will have a rather comprehensive and clearer understanding towards the Arabic cultural aspect and polish up on the ability of how to hold and run interesting sessions, meet diverse people and posses a wide corporate network of contacts, and to develop the bases of networking. |
