About Explore China_I Shanghai
This project on Shanghai and Chinese Culture is one of the best projects here in Mainland of China. And AIESEC SJTU is an Original LC in Mainland of China. It aims at promoting understanding of Chinese traditional Culture and get closer to its mysterious and marvelous evolution. We will invite 4~10 trainees from different backgrounds to join in this Winter Camps in 2011 in Shanghai---- the city both modern and historic.

Job Description1This project on Shanghai and Chinese Culture is one of the best projects here in Mainland of China. And AIESEC SJTU is an Original LC in Mainland of China. It aims at promoting understanding of Chinese traditional Culture and get closer to its mysterious and marvelous evolution. We will invite 4~10 trainees from different backgrounds to join in this Winter Camps in 2011 in Shanghai---- the city both modern and historic.For the first week, our LC will give a warm welcome and reception to overseas interns to make you feel at home.
Job Description2Interns will receive a training on Shanghai and Chinese culture. You will get a general knowledge of what the culture is and how it originated.
Job Description3Interns will have a week to go sightseeing, visit historic sites and exhibitions.And you will celebrate and experience the traditional New Year----the Spring Festival in Shanghai!
Job Description4Interns will carry out the research of your own as well, including interviews, questionnaire and surveys, experiencing local cultural events and activities, etc.
Job Description5Interns will get down to generating your thoughts from the research into PPT and prepare to share your feelings and gains by a presentation.
Job Description6Interns will stand on public platforms (libraries or museums) to share the research result by forms of class discussion, a speech and so on.
Measurable results expected from the intern1.Intern’s presentation will be also aimed at arousing the citizens’ awareness of culture inheritance and protection. For the last week of the camp, interns will write an article for special columns in newspapers and magazines to get your fabulous experience and valuable result known by more people!
Preparation required from the intern before arrivalEach intern intern should make sure you can arrive before Jan 16th. Interns should feel confident and willing to contact with Chinese. Interns should perseverance in the survey. International as Shanghai, there still be many problems related to poverty and so on. Laptop is highly suggested to carry.

Other Details of the Working Conditions1.Our volunteers will keep interns’ company during the project 2.We will provide cross-culture lessons for interns 3.One activity of the project contains the term that interns buy their handcrafts made by themselves.It about 200RMB(about31USD).
Learning points that the intern might obtain during the internship1.Shanghai culture and cross-culture experience 2.Shanghai’s intangible culture 3.Communicate with people from different cultural background. 3.Shanghainese language and Chinese languages 4.Know Shanghai is a complicated place, not only an international city or full of museums. 5.Grasp some ideas about how to present your own idea in front of alien people. 6.Know the way different people from different cultures think
Additional information a potential candidate may require for the InternshipPassionate for Shanghai culture. Fascinated by Shanghai culture. Able to handle some cross-culture situation. Know the basic survey methods. Be open-minded and kind.
