Job Description
Department the intern will be workingHeart Health Advocacy
Job Description1Book Collection sites and maintain communication with site management. Liase with and provide support for volunteer site coordinators.
Job Description2Recruit new site coordinators as required. Distribute collection material & arrange return post-appeal day.
Job Description3Prepare banking instructions and communicate clearly to Site Coordinators (as directed by Heart Foundation).
Job Description4Preparation of press releases and advertisements for community newspapers. Send post appeal thank you letters and contribute to a post-appeal evaluation.
Job Description5Contribute to the strong credibility of the Heart Foundation by maintaining positive and professional relationships with all stakeholders.
Job Description6Keep the HHA and other relevant parties informed of progress as requested.
Measurable results expected from the internTo be able to Document activities accurately and efficiently. Expand the awareness of Heart Foundation within the Auckland Region. To run a successful annual appeal. Maintain relationships with partners and build new ones. Motivate and engage volunteers.
Preparation required from the intern before arrivalMust be a self starter and show intiative at all times.

Other Details of the Working ConditionsTo be able to work under minimal supervision. There may be possible off site work E.g Street Appeals
Learning points that the intern might obtain during the internshipImprove event management, communication and public relations skills. Improved leadership, team management and crisis management skills. Develop self awareness and the ability to network.
Additional information a potential candidate may require for the InternshipThe EP must be a non-smoker and must be health conscious as The Heart foundations purpose is to help people make healthy living decisions. The EP must be available to participate at the time of the fundraiser for the annual appeal. Hours of work may be flexible ie. early start, early finish. Homestay accomodation may be available upong paying a stipend.
